I’ve been back from my trip to Kent for a few days now, but only now am I finding the time to upload my pics :p Kent was such a beautiful place and I enjoyed all the places I visited (Tumbridge Wells, Great Dixter & Sissinghurst House) but of course, Hever Castle was the highlight. I can’t explain the feeling I felt when I was walking up to the castle it was so surreal and being in Anne Boleyn’s bedroom and walking around the corridors she must have walked herself was just amazing!

In her bedroom they still have part of her bed, which despite the “Do not touch” sign I did touch hehe I had to. They also have her book of hours which she has ominously wrote “The time will come” in, seeing her books and her inscriptions in them gave me a little shiver, sad I know, but I love her haha. They also have some of Henry VIII’s locks scattered around the house, apparently he took them wherever he went for extra special security :p

No pictures were allowed in the house but there was such a beautiful stained glass window with Anne’s coat of arms on which read “Queen Anne Boleyn, 1533″ underneath so I had to be sneaky and get a picture of that. Thats on my phone though so I shall upload that another time. There was also a fake Henry & Anne that came parading out of the castle to lead the public up to the tilt yard for the jousting. The fake Anne was blonde so I wasn’t too impressed with that but the Henry was cool, I pushed passed all the kids and followed them as closely as I could to the jousting lol.

Anyway, this is turning into an essay, so here are my pics. Just ignore me on them, I have a tendency to ruin any picture I’m in!

This evening my Nan told my that my “clock was ticking”, at first I laughed at her but then it got me thinking about what the hell I am actually going to do with my life. So I have spent the whole night trying to decide on a career path. I’ve never really wanted to do anything specific I’ve just always known I want it to be historically related … somehow.

As most of you know I’m doing a degree in History right now, and although there is many things I can do with that degree, not a lot of them are history related. Too do anything remotely interesting, get well paid and be history related it seems like I will have to take a postgraduate course in Uni. The two jobs I have in mind are a Curator and an Archivist - both require post grad’s so I’ve been looking at the prospectus from my Uni, everything is ok apart from the fact that both courses require a 2.1 at BA level. -___- Will I get a 2.1 next year? I have no idea, its possible, but knowing me I’d probably fuck the exam up and ruin my life.

Apart from those Teaching is the only other option I can think of, but guess what? History teachers aren’t in demand right now. Hahar just my luck. I don’t really wanna teach snot nose kids anyway. They’d eat me for breakfast.

Thinking of the future depresses me. I should of just left school and done hairdressing or something. Sorry for this whining post, I had to write it down.

I saw Harry Potter yesterday! Wooh I can’t believe how long its been since the last one, but it was worth the wait. They started the showings at 9am and the cinema was packed all day. My friend and I went very very early bought our tickets, then went to get some lunch, we came back to the cinema around 1 hour before the film started and people were already queing for our showing, it was insane. Usually they decorate the entrance to the screen’s with the different houses, but not this year. That disappointed me.

Wanna know what I think of the film? (Spoilers)

God this day has draggged and its still only 5.35pm! I’m all packed and ready to go, I just need it to be 11 am tomorrow, waiting around is killing me. I wish I were more patient but I’m not!

The lovely Shannon has, very kindly, said that she will record Sacred Hearts for me, so I don’t have to miss a second of Natalie! The first part was actually quite good - but Serafina’s wailing at the beginning reminded me sooo much of Anne’s shrieks in the Tower after George had been beheaded, it gave me goose pimples haha. I can’t wait to get back and listen to the rest of it, I think Natalie *may* be singing in some of it, which is something I’ve never heard so that will be awesome if she does!

I ordered a new layout for KKFan today too so when I get back I shall be good and update that site … maybe :p

Yikes that was such a heartbreaking epsiode, I love the show but think it may have lost it’s two best characters. I have no idea how the BBC plan to carry on the show, not sure that I will watch it now :(

I’m going on holiday on Tuesday AHH My friend and I booked a late deal fo Tenerfie, I can’t  really afford it but what the hell right? We only live once! I’ve never booked a holiday so late before and I feel like I have a million and one things to do - its so stressful.

I also just discovered that Miss Dormer has recorded some kind of radio performance of a novel called Sacred Hearts. It’s set in 16th Century Italy and sounds really interesting. I only wish it was on the TV and not the radio but at least its something - although with being on holiday I shall miss most of it. *Prays it stays on BBC iPlayer for long enough*

I’m going to see Transformers today woop. Although lately Megan Fox is increasingly annoying me I’m still looking forward to see it, i guess I can block Megan out of the film :p I haven’t booked tickets so hopefully there will still be some seats left.

I had intended to work on James McAvoy Fan today and last night but I just can’t find the motivation for it. I think it might be time to let that site go. I love James and think he’s brilliant at what he does but he is just boring me at the moment and doesn’t really have a lot of movies coming up. The Last Station will undoubtedly be good but that isn’t enough to keep me interested. Wanted 2 is also in the works but, although I enjoyed the first, it doesn’t excite me. Damn you James, do something like Atonement again!

Jonathan might also have to go - or just be kept as a gallery / updates page. I made that site on a whim and I’m not that committed. My ladies are safe, though Keira is boring me haha I’d never give that site up though. I have a feeling things will pick up with Emily and *hopefully* Natalie later in the year so I’m being patient. At least I have all my design orders to keep my occupied whilst my gal’s are layin low.

I’ve not blogged in so long so I thought I’d give the site a fresh look with this new layout designed by the wonderful Amanda @ AM2M.net. I have just edited it to feature Miss Natalie Dormer!

My life is as boring as ever, perhaps more so since I finished University for the Summer - but I am trying to keep busy with working more and designing more! I need all the extra pennies I can get for Hever Castle & Kent!! Still can’t believe I’m going to the place where Anne lived for so long and grew up *tear*.

I will try and blog more … maybe ;]

I just got back from seeing The Young Victoria and can safely say that I was VERY amused! Most people who know me know that I have a thing for history and so I am very biased when I say that this was a great historical film. However I really think that, love of history aside, everyone would enjoy it.

Firstly, I have to give Miss Blunt a mention. This was her first leading role and she was just incredible, her and Rupert on screen together were just delicious. The film wasn’t sad at all but Emily very nearly had me crying with the effective way she portrayed the emotions poor Princess Victoria had to endure as a child. Her isolation in the first few months as Queen were also heartbreaking.

I have read reviews which praise the supporting cast and whilst I agree that Miranda Richardson was excellent I don’t see where the praise for the other lot comes from. Emily and Rupert were indeed the standout performances with Rupert being ridiculously handsome with his floppy Edward Cullen hair and costume. Paul Bettony (whom I normally love) as Lord Melborne annoyed me … every time he was onscreen I wanted Albert in his place.

My favorite part of the movie has to be the honeymoon period, although that only lasted 3 days, much to Albert’s annoyance :p I don’t want to give to much away because I know a certain person who is dying to see it, as I was. I will say though that the ending was rather abrupt. It was concluded nicely with some information about Victoria and Albert’s reign but it just ended quite enexpectedly. However the end scene, with Victoria and Albert walking into court in all their glory was very touching.

I will definitely think of Victoria in a new light now.

I hate Mondays, they really depress me. Three hours straight of seminars don’t help either but meh thats over for another week yay and this week will be a good one for all the Emily goodness. I can’t wait for Friday!!

I’m bored at the moment though and when I get bored I think of sites … heh Sarika, Rupert Friend is growwwing on me =P. Depending on how The Young Victoria is, he may be my (our? ;)) new project.

Oh and YUSS I can actually write my dissertation on Anne Boleyn hehe make way for an extremely biased piece of written work on that mosty lovely but controversial lady hehe
